This is the remaining standing structure of the famous Melaka fort that was built and rebuilt from the Malacca Sultanate to the Portuguese to the Dutch and then the dismantling by Sir Stamford Raffles of English controlled Singapore.

It is a symbol of the past glory and power of Malacca. Most tourists are disappointed by how small it is. Located at the foot of the hill, usually, a quick photo before proceeding up the hill to St. Paul's church.
