See the entrance of the The Hagues Gymnasium Haganum, a grammar school where Latin could be experienced, yet, from 1394 in Dutch history time.
Ofcourse this beautiful building is not from 1393 ... it got built in 1905 - 1907, created by J. Vrijman and J. van Lokhorst in Neo-Renaissance style, with a classic tower inside. The entrance is made of wrought iron and got famous because of the heavenly Goddess Pallas Athena above the gateway, and the Latin quote ... inside the huge entrance-hall there are some other statues of Greek gods. I used to follow some Indonesian translation lessons here for about 3 years.
Because of its beauty people might think it is the Vredespaleis, Peace Palace, located at the Laan van Meerdervoort, The Hagues longest street. You can find more gorgeously created buildings along this street ...
Address: Laan van Meerdervoort 57 - The Hague
Directions: From center of The Hague it is direction coast, tram-lines 10 and 17 ...
