Can Culleretes: "Speedy service, excellent choice" Can Culleretes Tip by punkass1uk

Can Culleretes, Barcelona: 3 reviews and 3 photos

Excellent food, had two three course meals here (the Black Forest Cake is to die for!), excellent value for money, a three course meal with a half bottle of cava was 22 euros..

Restaurant is divided into lots of little rooms, it gets very busy. In the afternoon it closes at 4pm and reopens at 9pm which is a bit of a pain, but is inline with Catalan culture. There is a queue to get in the restaurant from about 8.45pm!!! Unfortunately it is featured in many of the guidebooks because of its value for money.. but it was a nice surprise to get inside and not feel overcrowded because of the amount of rooms and tables.

The staff are efficient, I read that the staff weren't particularly friendly, but found this not to be the case, on both times I ate there the staff were friendly and laughed and joked (especially the second day when it was raining and I was soaked to the skin!)

The restaurant has been trading since 1786 and their are murals on the wall depicting restaurant scenes from the past.

Favorite Dish: The Black Forest Cake is to die for - beautiful light desert, presented very well
