This museum is located in the centre of Ljubljana, in a neo-Renaissance palace built by architect Viljem Treo between 1883 and 1885 but the museums history goes back to 1821. The main part of the museum displays exhibits tracing the country's history and culture and include the world's oldest instrument - a bone flute said to be 55,000 years old.
