"The Boardwalks" Huntington Beach State Park Favorite Tip by PA2AKgirl

Favorite thing: Throughout the park there are some boardwalks, varying in length that take you out to both the freshwater lagoon and the saltwater marsh. The longest one is beyond the causeway and about halfway down the boundary of the marsh. Eventually, you get out to a gazebo--viewing platform. Unfortunately, when we were there, they were working on it because it had damage from a hurricane in the past. I imagine they are finished with it by now because they were working pretty fast on getting it back together. But even if it isn't, they might let you walk on what has been completed. We were a little disappointed when we arrived and saw it was closed, but one of the workers told us to go ahead if we wanted to. They hadn't started working for the day so we weren't disrupting their progress.
