Fontana is the home of the California Speedway, where
NASCAR racing is the main event. <Br><I>Update: NEW AT THE SPEEDWAY...California Dragway is opening in the Summer of 2002, for street racing, which has been expected for some time.</I> Nearby, there is an
extensive outlet mall for shopping at Ontario Mills,
which is a couple of miles west of the speedway...off
of the 10 frwy at Milliken. A spectacular golf course,
Empire Lakes, is just a block or two north of the mall,
and the mountain resorts, beaches and deserts are about
an hour away in each direction.
Basically, there is something nearby for everyone to enjoy...theaters, shopping, restaurants, golfing, and
car racing events, to name just a few~ and the nearby
airport in Ontario has several first rate hotels, as
does Rancho Cucamonga to the north. At the Ontario Mills
Mall...I can recommend Chevy's for mexican food, the
Rainforest Cafe, for an atmosphere which is interesting
for both kids and adults...(when we were there, my son
asked the waiter for a 'bloody mary', and they went out
of their way to see that they got the little tyke some V-8
juice!) A Wolfgang Puck's Restaurant is also at this mall.
There is a Dave & Busters Restaurant, which has an
addictive video game arcade within the premises, and
it is loads of fun for adults and kids.

Directions: Just east of the junction of the 10 & 15 FRWYS. Off ramp
is Fourth Street exit on the 15 frwy., or Milliken exit off
of the 10 frwy.
