"Camping/Hiking/Scenary" Portland Things to Do Tip by Chip_Master

Portland Things to Do: 370 reviews and 737 photos

Silver Falls State park is a state park that should be a National Park. Its a short 3 hour drive from Portland. I find it as enjoyable, beautiful, and without all the crowds you'd find at a National park.

The park has several well paved short hikes to 3 specactular waterfalls. If you have more time and energy there are several very enjoable 2-3 hour hikes that take you to a total of 10 ( TEN ) waterfalls.

If you love to camp the campgrounds offer full hook up camp sites, cabins and a great ranger program. The river that runs thru the campground is great for crawfishing. Bring a bucket and your water sandals! We make an effort to come here at least once a year!
