"Monterey - Nice drive and Aquarium - Highway 1" MONTEREY Tip by SLLiew

MONTEREY, California: 24 reviews and 40 photos

Enjoyed the 17 Mile Drive of scenic coastal Monterey. Stunning vista of the sea, coast and "mangled" pine tree with aesthetic formation due to the strong ocean winds.

There is the famous Pebble Rock Golf course. And you can see the seals barking noisily off the coast. Walking along the coast are the giant washed up seaweeds reflecting the rich marine forest due to the nutrients brought down from the cold current from the north Pacific Ocean

A wonderful Monterey Bay Aquarium, 886 Cannery Row. Open daily. Exhibits of different zones of local sea life, kelp forest, sharks, sea otters, penguins. With a simulation splash wave aquatic display.

Nearby Carmel is a pretty beach town with many nice shops and souvenir to feast the eyes and test the pocket book.
