"Chapel Pond" New York State Things to Do Tip by Leipzig

New York State Things to Do: 193 reviews and 485 photos

Along route 73 through the Adirondacks you come along numerous stops. One of it is Chapel Pond. Have a walk around the pond and admire the steep slopes of the mountains surrounding the pond. Johns Brook and Ausable River can be crossed on bridges or, when the water level is low, you can jump from rock to rock. A wrong step gives you a refreshing experience. When I jumped on a wet rock I slipped into the 5C (40F) "warm" water.
