Mid September '06 on another beautiful NY day there was a farmers market next to the Path station.
Construction slowly continues(?) while birds fly over & take it all in.
It's safe now to stand near the intersection of West and Liberty street.

At the restored firehouse south & across Liberty street from the pit it's business as usual, except for all the tourists who wander in off the street to just nod and like me cluelessly ask "how's it goin?"

Around the corner on the Greenwich St. wall of Division 1 Engine Company 10 firehouse is a 56-foot-long bronze bas-relief memorial to the brave FDNY members who 'walked in and didn't walk out.'
