"Free Pancakes" The Nunnery Tip by northeast80

The Nunnery, Melbourne: 255 reviews and 0 photos

I had a great time in this hostel, met some great people and got lots of free stuff.
Lets see if I can remember- Weds free soup or ice cream, Fri free wine and nibbles, Sun free pancakes, they have tonnes of food on the free food shelves usually, oh and free breakfast and the bread usually lasts all day. What more could you want?
The building is a huge old nunnary, hence the name, in Fitzroy area of Melbourne which is very close to lots of great bars and restaurants and trendy shops, it's opposite a park which you can cut through to another nice area, where the supermarket and cinema is (you get a 'travellers' discout here on a certain night), you're very close to the Museum too where you can go and see Scott and Charlene's wedding cake!!

Unique Qualities: All the free stuff, just about opposite a tram stop to town or St.Kilda.
Don't know the price in US $ but it worked out at about AU$25 a night, which was quite pricy I thought and they doubled the prices when the Commonwealth Games were on.

Address: Nicholson St, Fitzroy
Price Comparison: more expensive than average
Directions: Off tram route 96 (I think)
Phone: +61 3 9419 8637
Theme: Hostel
