"Stephensplatz" Stephansdom - St. Stephen's Cathedral Tip by MLW20
Stephansdom - St. Stephen's Cathedral, Vienna: 255 reviews and 539 photos
This is Vienna's main square. We got off the train here everyday, right infront of the cathedral. We didn't go into the cathedral actually. We've been to so many on the trip at this point. We also didn't want to run in to take a peak and then leave really fast so we just checked out the building from the outside.
Outside the main entry there are two 30 foot tall columns. If you look at the tops, you will see that they symbolize creation. (one's a ***, the other a vagina)
Info on this is from the Rick Steve's Best of Eastern Europe guide
In the square there are lots of cafes all over. You can also see street performers. Some are quite entertaining.
