The beautiful Capitol building houses the US Congress - the Senate and House chambers and many offices too. This is where laws are made, issues are debated, and...never mind, this isn't a political site ;-)

You can visit the Capitol building. Tours are given Monday-Saturday. Tickets are free on a first come first served basis. A great place to bring the family for a real life civics lesson, and to see some fine American art. The Capitol has many fine paintings, sculptures & statues of prominent Americans. Who knew that it's something of an art gallery too.
