"Fürstengruft - too expensive for what you see" Weimar Tourist Trap Tip by christine.j

Weimar Tourist Traps: 1 reviews and 1 photos

The only other tourists we saw at the cemetery were in the Fürstengruft, the crypt where Goethe's and Schiller's coffins are standing. They didn't stay too long and looked somewhat disappointed when they went out again. I could understand them.
The entrance fee is 2,50 Euro and you get to see a hall, the coffins and you can read some explanations . Please correct me if you think I'm wrong, but I didn't think this was worth 2,50 Euro. I think both Goethe and Schiller were important poets, but I didn't feel a desperate urge to have a look at their coffins. So unless you're a really ardent fan of the poets, you can give this hall a miss.

Unique Suggestions: Walk around the Fürstengruft and enter thr Russian church. It's beautiful and not to be missed.
