Grand Haber: "Easy access to the area" Turkey Hotel Tip by PA2AKgirl

The closer we got to Antalya, the more we realized that it might be a problem finding a hotel. Unlike where we lived at the time and where we had just come from, this part of Turkey has a LOT of tourists, events and things to do all year. So, we decided to drive a little beyond to Kemer where we found 2 HUGE resorts beside each other. One place we tried, a bit up the road from the water had no vacancies, we were tired of driving and looking for a place to stay, so we turned to the Grand Haber. The previous night we paid 40USD for a very nice hotel, so we figured this would be the same. However, since it was very busy and full service, all inclusive--it was much more, but still not close to the price you'd think for such a hotel.
Unique Qualities: An all inclusive hotel is, in theory, all inclusive. However, down on the lower level, we did have to pay for drinks (alcoholic) which is completely understandable. You get a wrist band that allows you to get in for dinner (which is more of a cafeteria type setting or family style) and then for breakfast the next morning. There's also a pool, disco, WiFi access, an excercise room and countless activities. In one of the bars, people are sitting around smoking the hookahs and another area is a cafe--there's plenty of botique shopping there and on and on.
All of this, as well as the general atmosphere, made it worth it to pay what we did. However, it didn't stop there. We went into our rooms and shortly after, there was a knock. we opened it and a man welcomed us with slippers and bathrooms. We shut the door and there was another knock. We again opened it and this time, it was a large basket of cheeses and fruits and other foods. The man told us it was because the manager wanted to welcome the Americans. Whether it was just a very kind gesture or he wanted a plug for his hotel, it worked. The stay was very nice. The rooms large and the view exceptional.
My ONLY complaint (and it's small) is that they also have a park across the street. The large birds in this park are very loud at night. Very, very loud.
