"Levanter cloud" Top 5 Page for this destination Miscellaneous Tip by HORSCHECK
Miscellaneous, Gibraltar: 6 reviews and 6 photos
Unfortunately, it seems to be not unusual to see a cloud over the Rock, even when the rest of Gibraltar and Spain has sunny and clear weather.
This cloud is called Levanter cloud and comes from the warm, humid Levante wind which blows across the Mediterranean Sea.
When I visited the top of the Rock the Levante cloud formed all of a sudden and it was almost impossible to see anything, but a bit further down the view was still okay. On the other hand it was quite exhilarating to feel the Levante wind and to see the seagulls soaring in the wind.
