See the children in the Andes. There are 3 million inhabitants (about 10% of total) living in the Andes whose native language is derivative of the Incas and who speak little Spanish. They really do dress like this. One little guy (about 11 yrs I'd guess) followed our bus down from Machu Picchu. As the bus went around the winding road, he'd run down the set of stairs between segments and be there to wave to us as we rounded the next bend. This he kept up for the whole descent. At the bottom the driver let him aboard to pass the hat for his performance. No doubt he's doing his part in his family's enterprise.
