  Dining at Moonshine
by VeronicaG

While getting our bearings in Austin, we drove by a restaurant where people gathered outside waiting to enter and clusters of folks chatted along the sidewalks. We commented to each other that this restaurant must be a choice place for dining. Our thoughts were confirmed at the hotel after inquiring about dinner options.

Moonshine was described as an establishment serving American food with a funky twist. The exterior of the restaurant is somewhat nondescript, but cozy vine-shrouded terraced areas made dining an enjoyable occasion.

We selected an unusual appetizer with which to begin our meal: corn dog shrimp ($8.95). It was very tasty! Entrees such as Buffalo Meatloaf with Mushroom Gravy ($14.95) or Blackened Catfish with Crawfish Etouffee were on the menu. I quickly selected Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad for $6.50--it also came in a smaller size for $4.50.

Hours are 5pm-10pm daily; Sunday Brunch Buffet from 10 am-2:30 PM costing $13.95.
