Battery Park lies at the southern tip of Manhattan Island. This small city park has views across the harbor to famous landmarks like Ellis Island, the Elizabeth Seaport, and the Statue of Liberty. Also visible is the new and beautiful 30 Hudson St building, across the Hudson River in Jersey City. Many harbor cruise tours, like Circle Line, have boats departing from Battery Park, but most of these aren't quite as worthwhile as the Staten Island Ferry (especially now that you can't enter the Statue of Liberty). Other sights in the park are Castle Clinton and the various memorials honoring the victims of September 11.
