Imagine going to Crete for the last 25 years and never having visited Knossos, well this year I made it! What can I say, It was fascinating, I love archealogical sites, especially the ones that can show you real relics and give an insight to the life the people led all those thousands of years before. I would reccomend a trip to Knossos and also to pay the extra to have a guide. The guides are very good and the one we had was an archealogist and her love of her subject shone through. Well done Nikki ! The only fly in the ointment was the englishman Sir Arthur Evans who made a bit of a mess of the Minoan settlement by trying to recreate the whole thing by introducing his own variation of things. However, in his favour, without him, his perseverance, money and influence we might never have this treasure to visit.
