Bled Island - Otok, Bled: 44 reviews and 91 photos

Bled Island is a tiny, tear-shaped island and is the only one in Slovenia. It has been the site of a Christian church since the 9th century although excavations have shown that the early Slavs worshipped at a pagan temple here at least a century before that. The church you see today was built in the 17th century and contains some interesting fresco fragments that date from the 14th century. The best way to get to the island is by taking one of the gondolas (known as a pletna which cost about ?10.

Address: In the lake.
