""Sleep Cheap in Luxury" "Luxury"?" Hotel Cabinn Express Tip by Mariajoy
Hotel Cabinn Express, Copenhagen: 30 reviews and 6 photos
The chain of Cab Inn Hotels are situated around the city. Some are more central than others, but the Express claims to be 12 minutes from the centre. They must have meant by bus because walking takes an awful lot longer! Ask at reception about bus routes to the centre - there are a few.
There is no internet connection at the Express but just a few minutes away up the street in Vodroffsvej is the Cab Inn Scandinavia, a much busier big sister to the Express where they do have free internet access in the foyer - but just the one PC - and there will be a queue waiting to use it. If you take your key card to reception and tell them you are from the Express they will permit you to use it.
The rooms are tiny, with even tinier shower/toilet cubicles. It is adequate for two people sharing - the room not the cubicle! - but only just! The window didn't open more than a centimetre and on a warm summer evening it was almost unbearable. The beds were comfy enough and ours even had a third bunk! (please see extra photos to see how this can be utilised!)
We also understood there to be 24hr reception service but there wasn't - so if you want your munchies after 11pm make sure you buy them somewhere else - those chocolates/drinks/crisps sitting just beyond the metal security grid over reception lay just out of your reach until morning!
Entry to the hotel after 11pm is with your key card so don't forget to take it with you!
Breakfast is the usual continental affair, various types of bread, cereal, yoghurt, cheese, cold meat, fruit etc and the breakfast room is in the basement - there is a lift for tired legs.
Unique Qualities: One of the biggest surprises here was the tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms - Whoohoo! great - but some milk and sugar would have been nice!! Hey it's a start for continental hotels anyway and I wasn't complaining - I just went out and bought some milk. Unfortunately with the room being so warm and no fridge, it went off in a few hours so I learned to take my tea black.
