As I have only made daytrips into Swaledale, I have never stayed anywhere overnight, but Reeth is your best bet if you want a lot of choice since there seem to be B&Bs all over the village. The picture is of the very pretty Walpardo, in a 17th century cottage at Anvil Square just off the village green. Remember to still book early in high season though, as Reeth is a popular overnight stop for Coast to Coast walkers.

Should you want something even cheaper, the village of Grinton, just below the hill towards Richmond, has an IYHA hostel.

Comparison: less expensive than average
Price: US$20-40
Theme: Bed and Breakfast

Review Helpfulness: 2.5 out of 5 stars
