Narrow Gauge Inn is a very beautiful and nice lodge off Hwy 41 south of Fish Camp, four miles from the Yosemite National Park entrance. We were immensely satisfied with our stay; when we first booked rooms, we booked a two double bed air conditioning room for $140 a night. But when we arrived, the air conditioning was broken, so we were nicely reassigned to a new room: Narrow Gauge Inn's $215 a night Mission Suite for no extra charge. The giant room was very spacious, with a king bed and a sofa bed, two bathrooms (both well decorated), a private balcony, TV, and a refridgerator. The staff were also very helpful. We stayed here because we were visiting the Mariposa Grove area, but Narrow Gauge Inn is rather far from Yosemite Valley. The staff were extremely helpful, and a free breakfast buffet is included.

Unique Qualities: Narrow Gauge Inn has some not-too-great views of the forested Chowchilla Mountains. What impressed me more was the atmosphere of our room (The Mission Suite). This would probably make a good romantic getaway. There are also some nice trails leading around the grounds of the inn.
