Old town Kutna hora near the Italian Court.
by hundwalder

Old town Kutna hora in and around the Italian Court is fascinating. Medieval towers with skyward reaching spires abound. The streets and walkways are still paved with the same cobblestones that were laid 650 years ago during the peak of the town's prosperity. The tower in the left center of the photo features many ornate double arched Gothic windows and a bulbous roof that makes it appear that the tower is wearing a spiked crown. Other towers of various shapes and detailed designs compliment it. Numerous chuch spires complete the skyline of old town.

The people of Kutna hora hold fast to many of the old Bohemian traditions. An important Bohemian festival is held annually in Kutna hora. I will provide details of the festival soon for those wishing to time their visit with the festival.

Kutna hora offers good pensions and private accomodations, and is a good place to spend the night. Enjoy your visit.

Address: About 40km east of Prague.
Directions: Easy and frequent access by train or bus from Prague, at very reasonable prices. See my earlier tips for details.
