State of South Australia Things to Do: 120 reviews and 227 photos

One of my families favourite places to take a few days off. Lie on the beach and relax! The town was named after the wife of the then Governor Fergusson in 1869, Edith. The Jetty was built in 1873 and salt, gypsum and lime were shipped off to Adelaide. Our family has spent many hours fishing from the jetty but I must confess we have only caught but a few squid. The town has a tidal swimming pool with a shallow area which was great when the kids were little.
We stay at the Edithburgh caravan which is very nice and has good facilities. We went to the local pub for a few meals and enjoyed it. There is all so a very good fish and chip shop on the shoreline.

Directions: Edithburgh is 250kms from Adelaide
