Zuni Cafe, San Francisco: 4 reviews and 1 photos

This relatively new (in 2006) restaurant offers all manner of Mexican specialties. Most items on the menu are under $10.00. The Lunch Special consists of your choice of taco, enchilada, tamale,, tostada, burrito or quesadilla (1 only) served with Spanish rice and refried beans with melted cheese and lettuce for $6.25. Regular combination plates (such as beef taco & cheese enchilada, chile relleno & tamale, quesadilla & chile relleno, guacamole tostada & quesdailla, etc.) are $7.95 and include beans, Spanish rice and green salad. The Chile Colorado dinner (sliced beef steak with a red sauce, rice, beans and salad is $9.50. Shrimp fajitas are $11.95. They have side orders (sour cream, cilanto, jalapenos, guacamole, etc.) for .35 to $1.75; soups are $3.50; desserts (cheese cake or Mexican flan) are $2.95. There's also a full bar. Mixed drinks start at $5.50; Patron & Don Julio are $7.50; domestic beers are $3.50 and imported beers are $4.50.

Favorite Dish: I'm partial to the chicken enchiladas. The refried beans are also quite good!

UPDATE: As of November, 2006, this restaurant has closed.
