Built and completed in 1968 by the US Government, dedicated to the Filipino and American soldiers who shed their blood in Corregidor. The memorial is located on the highest part of Corregidor, the entrance pathway is lined with giant acacia trees. Located at the left of the entrance are the ruins of Cine Corregidor and the museum that you can visit and view some war artifacts. At the right are the ruins of Bachelor Officer's Quarters and the Post Headquarters.

I remember a story from our guide, it goes that, when the Americans retook the island in 1945, the Americans landed with the use of parachute. While still up in the air, the Japanese troops were shooting the paratroopers, killing hundreds of them, others landed on cliffs lifeless. This story had made Pres. Bill Clinton teary-eyed during his Corregidor visit.
