The Ahr valley is renound for its red wine,and in Altenahr there is a winery at the bottom of the town.
This is the place to get your red wine to take home,the winery is very well set out and you can taste any wines before you buy.
We got a very good red wine for €5:50 a bottle we noticed that the hotels and restaurants were selling the same wine for €17:90 so not a bad saving.
If you go give it a visit even if you dont buy any wine.
