everywhere: "Chinese Coffee Shops" Kota Kinabalu Restaurant Tip by syetan

Kota Kinabalu Restaurants: 186 reviews and 310 photos

Chinse coffee shops (kedai kopi) are to be found everywhere in the city and suburbs - usually the name of the shop will be indicated in both Malay and Chinese script. Most will have a small stand with fried chicken or pork hanging off hooks. Some are very simple and sell a very limited types of food while others also sell western style food, though this is rare.

The layout is basic and usually shops have small white tiles for easy cleaning. Payment is by cash only. Try their chicken rice or noodles. Famous shops will get their clientele from all over KK.

Favorite Dish: Chicken rice is usually very good.
