Translated as the ‘Might of Islam’, these ruins were once a mosque, built between 1193 and 1197AD and one of the first in India. Constructed by Qutb-Ub-Din Aibak it was built for the use of the muezzin (the mosque official) to call the people for prayer and is believed to have used materials which came from the demolition of some 27 Jain and Hindu temples.
