While the chapel itself is well visited, the less visited tower at the Chapelle Notre Dame de Bonsecours is not to be missed when visiting Vieux-Montreal. The view from the top takes in the rooftops and belltowers of the old city as well as the skyscrapers and modern museums which grace downtown and the port. Inside the chapel itself is a quiet an serene atmosphere totally different from the hectic crowded tourist jam experienced at the Notre Dame Basilica. Unfortunately, the great view from the tower can only be experienced with admission to the Marguerite Bourgeoys Museum, which seemed like an interesting commentary on Montreal's early history but one which I was not really interested in expoloring as I dashed through to get to the tower.
