Church of Our Lady before Tyn, Prague: 134 reviews and 222 photos

The Church of Our Lady before Týn (Týnský chrám) is without doubt the most important ecclesiastical building on the right bank of the river Vltava. It earned its name thanks to an enclosed court, Týnský dvůr, also known as Ungeld. The nave and two aisles each had a vaulted ceiling with a polygonal apse. There was a crypt and one western tower with a bell from 1310 onwards. This building was replaced by the present day church. The only preserved part of the original church, St. Ludmila's chapel, was pulled down one hundred years ago.
