The Eglise Jeanne d'Arc is located in the middle of Place du Vieux Marche, next to the place where Joan of Arc was burnt on the cross.
The current church was built in 1979, standing in the place of the original church which was destroyed in the bombing of 1944. Luckily the old churches stained-glass windows were removed prior to the war and can now been seen in the stunning new church.
This is a very unusual looking church from the outside. It is meant to resemble an upturned boat and looks very out of place in the centre of the square. It really isn't very pretty - but make sure you have a look inside, you won't be sorry!
The inside of the church is stunning. The sloping wood panelled ceiling is quite beautiful and unique. The soaring stained-glass windows are allow the light to filter into this lofty structure.
A fitting memorial to France's national heroine.
