Freta street is a busy street with lots of pedestrians and many restaurants and pubs. In one of the houses on the right hand side, Marie Curie was born at the end of nineteenth century. She was the only person who has received two Nobel prizes (one from physics, the other from chemistry), and the first woman to receive these prizes. She discovered Rad (which started the development of radiation as a science) and Polon (which she named after Poland). The house serves as her museum
