A bar on Bourbon Street with 2-for-1 drinks and live music! How could you go wrong? How about a 10-minute wait, at the bar when the bar was virtually empty, for starters? Perhaps the door is most famous when customers are leaving?

Besides the service, the bar is pretty good. They have 2-for-1 drinks (and sometimes even 3-for-1 drinks) in the late afternoon. And they seem to always have live music playing a variety of jazz and old rock. Much more mainstream than the strip clubs and loud clubs at the Canal Street end of Bourbon.

According to Frommers, this is the oldest live music venue on Bourbon Street, open since 1934. It is said Harry Connick, Jr. played here years ago when he was just a teenager. The bar was formerly owned by the same company that operated Razzoo and the Bourbon Street Blues Company. The Famous Door has changed ownership, not sure about the others.
