Tivoli Garden, Copenhagen: 134 reviews and 247 photos
Tivoli Gardens is the oldest amusement park, even older then Disneyland in fact this is where Walt Disney got his idea for Disneyland. The park covers 82,712 sqm & has various rides, attractions, drinking holes & restaurants. On the Friday evening when we went there was a live concert starting at 10pm. We visited a bar in the shape of a ship & had to walk the gangplank to get aboard.
Tivoli has the highest carousel “Himmelskibet” Star flyer, these crazy thrill seekers are propelled through the air 80mtrs high & 70km/h needless to say I felt sick just watching them
We also saw some dancers on another stage which puts on live events from pantomine to ballet, this is at the main entrance.
Entrance into the gardens is DKK75 & rides tickets can either be bought separately or a multi ride ticket which is about DKK200+ worthwhile if you plan to be there all day. The ambience is fantastic & its shared by locals & tourists alike - we did not go on any rides but did not begrudge paying the entrance fee
Tivoli is not that wheelchair friendly as there are several steps & also big crowds.
