Food Halls: "Bear soup, anyone?" Kauppatori (Market Square) Tip by Sjalen

Kauppatori (Market Square), Helsinki: 15 reviews and 22 photos

The architecturally lovely little food hall is great to visit to stock up on picnic food for a boat trip to some lovely island, or for things you might want to bring home with you. There is lots of Baltic fish in various concoctions, but also smoked reindeer, bear soup (!), cloudberry preserves and dried mushrooms. Not to mention all the international food for those not yet ready to try real Nordic stuff.

There is another food hall at Hakaniemi which is less of a "tourist trap" and more geared for budget visitors and locals.
