Chicago's skyline glitters at night. The best way to see it is on a boat. There are many boat tours, departing from various parts of Chicago. One of the better ones is the City Lights Extravaganza tour, leaving from Michigan Avenue on the Chicago River. This 2-hour tour happens weekend nights during the summer, at 7:30pm.

Start with seeing all of the beautiful buildings on the Chicago River. Old and new, they shine for you. Learn a bit about the locking system (and how they redirected the flow of the river - an interesting story, that), and then make your way out to Lake Michgan at twilight for an unforgettable view of the city. Tour from the Hancock Tower to the Museum Campus, then back to the river to disembark.

An amazing tour - fun and informative too, with lots of tidbits on Chicago's history. When in Chicago, a boat tour is a "must do". Jump on a boat, and take it all in.

Address: Michgan Ave & Wacker Drive
Directions: Souteast Corner of the Michigan Ave. Bridge, on the river itself
