Grill on the Dock: "Great for summer lunch near Tower Bridge" Top 5 Page for this destination The Dickens Inn Tip by sue_stone
The Dickens Inn, London: 9 reviews and 23 photos
On a sunny summer day when my mother-in-law (MIL) was visiting from Sydney, we went into central London for the day to see some of the sites and enjoy the lovely weather.
At lunch time we found ourselves at Tower Bridge and Alex came up with the brilliant idea to go to St Katherine's Dock for some food - the perfect place to take the MIL as it is pretty, interesting and something a little different.
The Dickens Inn seemed to beckon us with its flower covered exterior, so we checked out the menus of its two restaurants and decide on the top floor 'Grill on the Dock'.
We were given a friendly greeting and seated on a nice table on the balcony, overlooking the dock.
Favorite Dish: The food was ok - not amazing, but entirely edible. My MIL and I had the Deep Fried Cod Fillet in lime batter with minted mushy peas and chunky chips, and Alex had the Salmon, Prawn & Rocket fish cakes with chips. The Cod was the right choice and the peas were particularly tasty.
We washed it down with an icy bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
I would recommend it as a nice place for lunch on a summery day.
