The Just for Laughs Festival runs the entire month of July 2006, I think you can get tickets in advance by calling the box office but we went to the box office on St-Laurent on the day of the show and found they still had tickets left for most of the shows. You may find some discounted tickets for the same day but not all shows are discounted, the one we selected was not discounted.

The website has a full listing of the options, you’ll find stand up comedians, some of them big names like John Cleese or Craig Ferguson, revues, outdoor performances and the show we opted for, La Clique, a cabaret/burlesque show. If you have a chance to see this show in Montreal or in another city, I’d highly recommend it. Sword swallowing, double jointed tricks with tennis rackets that had me laughing so hard I had tears rolling down my face, British gentlemen performing incredible stunts, a very naughty magic trick and a bathtub acrobatic finale that’s sure to leave the ladies wanting more (not to mention many of the men).

If you do opt for La Clique, seating is general admission, and although there aren’t really any bad seats, if you get there early, you can get one of the front row seats where you’re likely to become part of the act.
