"Taj Mahal Photographers" Agra Tourist Trap Tip by nbfi2001

Agra Tourist Traps: 24 reviews and 15 photos

As you enter the Taj Mahal, there are photographers proposing their services. They offer a package that comes out to Rs 60 per photo.

Unique Suggestions: If you agree for these photographers, he will take more photos than you have agreed to. Say you agree to 15 photos, he will take 40 photos.

After all photos are taken, he will tell you that the RS60 per photo is for bad india quality photo paper. and it is Rs100 for kodak photo paper.

They will also try to sell you a photo album for RS200.

Fun Alternatives: The photos actually come out quite good. They know exactly where to get the good shots. And since there is a line for these locations, they are agressive to get you done quickly. If you don't have a photographer, it may be difficult to get your turn on these spots since the local photographers (who have customers with them) will trouble you (to hurry up or something like that).

My suggestion - get a photographer. Agree on the paper quality to be used. Take a reasonable amount of photos, you decide, not the photographer.

When leaving, he will approach you with the photos, choose only those you like. Refuse the album. Refuse all the photos you don't like. Make sure you check the quality of the photo paper used, and demand the negatives be given to you. They will agree. Finally, I was offered all refused photos for a total of Rs100 - which I took since I would not want my family's photos lying around amidst strangers in India :)
