"Wieliczka Salt Mine" Wieliczka Things to Do Tip by thelittlevoice

Wieliczka Things to Do: 57 reviews and 94 photos

I'm sure most of you go to Wieliczka to visit its salt mine. "Remarkably, this eerie world of pits and chambers is all hewn out by hand from solid salt, and every single element, from chandeliers to altarpieces, is made of salt. The Mine is included on Unesco's World Heritage List." Lonely Planet Guidebook.

I got there around 6pm and there was a tour in Polish. There were about 15-20 in the group but only 3 who could understand Polish! I bought a camera ticket for 10 Zloty when I bought my entrance ticket(30Zloty for student though I wasn't one) and I noticed everyone else didn't and they took loads of pictures. But when we were in the middle of the tour, someone came up and asked them to buy it though so I felt so much better.
