A couple of metres from Ahu Tahiri (with the Inca like wall) is Ahu Vinapu II. The wall of this ahu is quite different from the one at Vinapu I; the stones are not so polished and sharp fitted.
At the land side are some fallen (and broken) moai with their faces to the ground. There are also some red pukao’s lying around the ahu. We never expected to see so many fallen moai on Easter Island.
In front of this ahu stands a tombstone, carved of red volcanic rock (Hani Hani). If you look really good at the stone you may see the arms resting on the stomach of a female body. It is believed she was a kind of godness, whereas the head had two faces, but unfortunately stolen by pirate looting before last century.
