Sitting on a cliff above Dieppe is the Chateau Musee, a medieval castle. It is a very impressive site up on the cliff, best seen from the beach side of town.

The 15 century castle has been home to the governors of Dieppe, used as a prison and now it is a museum. The museum is home to the towns art and maritime history. The town was once home to numerous ivory carvers, and you can view some of their work here.

Unfortunately the castle was closed when we tried to visit it……please be warned that it is shut for lunch between 12-2pm each day! We had to go and have some lunch instead and unfortunately had to leave soon after so couldn't go back.
