"Monument for Grunwald battle" Grodzka Street Tip by Raimix

Grodzka Street, Krakow: 7 reviews and 12 photos

The monument was built in 1910 near the old town walls and barbican of the city. Thats nice Krakow has a monument for so important battle, that took place near Grunwald village in former crusaders ordin territory in 1410. Polish-Lithuanian soldiers had battle against crusaders and Polish- Lithuanian army won that battle - battle was so important, that after it crusaders never has so strenght to make more attack at all (talking about all future history).

At this monument is shown a lot of figures, but the main is Poland's king Jagiello (Jogaila in Lithuanian) and Lithuanian duke Wytold (Vytautas in Lithuanian).

Address: Matejki square
Directions: Near old town barbican.
