11th street diner: "retro RR dining car experience" Miami Beach Restaurant Tip by susiemargare

Miami Beach Restaurants: 209 reviews and 238 photos

this wonderful restaurant is a 1948 restored art deco-style RR dining car, it is much larger than it looks. open 24 hrs, very casual.

has terrific american-style food -- sandwiches ($5-$10), hamburgers, "meat and three" selections, salads, and FABULOUS milkshakes (chocolate is very thick and tastes like dark chocolate). daily specials. "dinners" include two side dishes and range from $8-$15. my coke was $2.50, tho!

the bill includes an automatic 15% tip, so be sure to notice that. but i added more onto it, because the service was so friendly and efficient.

Favorite Dish: i got the grilled chicken dinner ($9). one of the sides was pasta marinara, which was excellent. in a medium-size bowl, the pasta had just the tiniest taste of lemon in it. a little surprising but great-tasting.
