State of Tasmania Things to Do: 262 reviews and 516 photos

Tassie has some of the best wines...attached is information we found online re: the different wineries. There are all over tasmania, but these were the ones located in the north east to eastern section of tasmania:

Pipers Brook Vineyard
Currently the largest and probably the most important wine producer in Tasmania.
Pipers Brook Winery is located at Pipers Brook, on C818 about 50 minutes from Launceston.
Tastings - Reserve Room - Winery Cafe - Wine Accessory Shop
? Open daily 10am - 5pm (Pipers Brook Vineyard wine tastings and sales)
? Lunch daily in The Winery Cafe between 12noon and 3pm
Location Address: 1216 Pipers Brook Road, Pipers Brook

Tamar Ridge Wines
A very broad-ranging and high quality line up of wines under the Tamar Ridge and Devils Corner labels with the Tamar Ridge Riesling especially well regarded. Also produces premium sparkling wine under the TRV and Josef Chromy Selection label.
Location Address: Auburn Road Kayena

Jansz is situated right next door to Pipers Brook Vineyard and has quite possibly Tasmania's most impressive Wine Room and Interpretative Centre. It is both architecturally magnificant and beautifully placed amongst vine-laden hills and beside a picturesque lake.

Moorilla Estate***café, etc!!!
The wines have long held a very good reputation with Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir regularly winning recognition.
Location Address: 655 Main Road, Berriedale

Domaine A
The top label is Domaine-A and appears only when warranted by the vintage while the Stoney Vineyard label is the regular label.
Domaine A produces arguably Tasmania's best Cabernet Sauvignon (it is included in the 2005 Langtons Classification IV) and highly sought after Pinot Noir.
Location Address: Tea Tree Road,Campania

Stefano Lubiana
Steve Lubiana is considered an authority on sparkling wine production but also has a deserved reputation for producing high quality Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Riesling and perhaps Tasmania's best Merlot.
Location Address: 60 Rowbottoms Road, Granton
