Sterling Vineyards: "A vineyard with a difference" Sterling Winery Tip by sunshinejo
Sterling Winery, Napa: 1 reviews and 2 photos
This is the second vineyard we visited in the Napa Valley, and although it's very different from V. Sattui it's also well worth a visit. It's situated on top of a small hill, offering spectacular views over the valley and it is accessed by an aerial tram. The vineyard is modeled after a monastery on the Greek island of Mykonos, and there's certainly a very Mediterranean feel to the place. Visitors can take part in a self-guided tour of the vineyard, which takes you through the wine-making process. To be honest, although it's very informative, it's not the most interesting vineyard tour I've been on. The tour is followed by wine tasting on a pretty, shaded balcony which, sadly, is lacking in views. The tour, tasting and tram ride are all included in the entrance fee, which I think was about $10.
