The VT gang met here on a beautiful sunny Saturday in June and were fortunate to arrive at the right time to grab one of the outdoor tables to accomodate our party of 6. Surprisingly I was the first to arrive so I sat down with a copy of the Chicago Reader and ordered one of their oatmeal shakes and waited mere minutes before the rest of the group arrived.
I've seen reports of slow service and long waits at this place but maybe the secret is to go at a little off peak time, 2:00 pm on a Saturday afternoon was perfect.
Favorite Dish: The menu is Costa Rican which will remind you a bit of some other Latin American cuisines with entrees coming with sides of rice and beans and plantains.
Several in the group ordered what appeared to be their speciality, casado, you could order with either steak or chicken. The portion was quite ample and they all said it was good. I ordered a sandwich with steak, onions and cheese that was good.
Address: Milwaukee Avenue
Price Comparison: less expensive than average
